Features of the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR
The first thing you’ll notice about the Easton Mako Torq bbcor bat 2015 (-3) is the barrel design. It looks very powerful and solidly built.
The sweet spot on this bat is also larger compared to other baseball bats available today. You can tell how different it is when you hit a ball with it.
One of the things you’ll notice about baseball bats is the sweet spot varies a lot. If it isn’t right you just won’t be able to hit properly. Fortunately, Easton has got it right for the 2015 Mako.
One of the more interesting features here is the 360 Degree TORQ Handle, which is something truly unique.
This handle rotates, which allows for a complete swing, so the bottom palm is faced down and the top palm faces up.
With this design, the Mako Torq allows the barrel to enter the zone quicker and more importantly, keeps it there for a longer period than usual.
What The Design Really Means
If you’re a hitter this means the Easton Mako Torq bbcor lets you square up pitches better. There’s more power behind every hit.
The technology is new, but there’s no questioning the efficiency as early tests show that it is way ahead of other bats.
The two piece composite design is as well done as the other Easton baseball bats. It also has the ConneXion Technology and Easton’s TCT Thermo Composite Technology.
The TCT Thermo Composite is particularly noteworthy because it provides hitters with several benefits, not the least being better bat speed than ever before, which when combined with the large sweet spot, produces more power.
The ConneXion Technology on the other hand, optimizes energy transfer for superior hitting. In addition, the bat also comes with Easton’s patented gauze grip so the bat feels just right in your hands, and the bat comes with a 12 month warranty.
Swinging The Bat
The bat looks very impressive, but everything comes down to the handling and power, and fortunately the 2015 Easton does not disappoint.
The much trumpeted Torq technology and rotating handle may take a bit of getting used to, but it’s actually beneficial and helps improve swings.
Since the Torq technology is still new, it’s understandable for some to be skeptical about it, but there’s no questioning the effect. With Torq, you can swing the bat with more power and more efficiently in the hitting zone.
While Torq has been getting a lot of the publicity, equally important is the TCT thermo-composite technology.
The TCT is what makes it possible for Easton to create a longer barrel so you have a bigger sweet spot. Not only is the sweet spot larger, but the MOI is reduced too so you swing faster.
When you swing the bat you’ll also notice that there is very little vibration. As anyone who’s swung a bat will tell you, vibrations can get pretty bad especially when you’re jammed, but Easton has made sure that isn’t a problem here.
Another Feature of the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR
Another noteworthy thing about the Mako is it maximizes energy transfers like never before.
Energy transfer is very important for a baseball bat, and unless this has been optimized you won’t get full power when you swing. With the Easton bat, you’re assured that your body’s power will get to the ball, optimizing the impact of each hit.
Finally, the grip is just right for a baseball bat, allowing you to swing with all your might without fear of losing grip.
Because of the way the baseball bat has been designed, it’s been approved for use in league school play, high schools, Little League and other associations in the US, a testament to the quality.

Final Thoughts on The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR
Based on the reviews and the feature specs, the Mako Torq is an impressive baseball bat. In terms of style and appearance it may look similar to others, but as any hitter can tell you, these bats behave in different ways that affect your ability to hit.
The barrel diameter is just right, and the Torq technology works as well as advertised. Even if you don’t understand the technology much, it makes a huge difference.
It’s got power, solid grip and can help your swing like few bats can.

Hey Jeff, I just bought the mako torq today for my son and I was just wanting to know your honest opinion on this bat…. Thank you, and I like reading your reviews they’re great

Hi Clint – I really like the bat you bought. It’s my #4 rated BBCOR bat for 2015. Most of the reviews are really good. I hear it takes several batting practice sessions to break in and get used to. After that it is said that the pop is awesome.
