What can possibly beat down last year’s immensely powerful and popular DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD?
Why, the new 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR of course!
Hands down the most used bat at the Collegiate baseball Level NCAA D1 Level for several consecutive years. This is due to the extra carry distance it provides with its intimidatingly massive barrel.
The Bat for Beasts
When we tossed around the word “raw” in the bullpen (writers’, not pitchers’), the first words that came to mind were “power,” “energy,” “passion” and “desire”. (Actually, one junior writer said “oysters” but we fired him forthwith because the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR should not ever, ever be in any way connected to any dumb oysters unless it was being used to smash those spineless suckers into tiny itty-bitty bits).
But the word that we all (minus one) agreed to be the most apt when talking about the DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR was “meat.”
Yes, meat. No, not the kind that you put in pastas and quiches, but the kind that you can sink your canines into. Meat that oozes juices that dribble down your chin.
The stuff you can hang on big, galvanized steel hooks. Meat with giant tusks and matted fur that you and your tribe have to herd with spears over a rocky cliff. That kind of raw meat.
You have to be prepared to get bloody. You have to be ready to brawl. Mentally. Because the act of hitting homers is like bludgeoning your opponents into submission.
And if you are able to do it with repeated ease, they will fight you and hate you for shaming them.
To understand much less get the most use out of a beast of a bat like the DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Drop 3, you have to be able to drop your human guise, even for just an instant, to connect to the hidden, ravenous beast within you.

Killer Features of the DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR
The DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR DXVDC not only continues where its brutish previous iteration left off, but also adds a couple of modified features to reinforce performance.
-
Still following DeMarini’s world renowned 2-Piece Construction system (also known as Half & Half), the bat is a Hybrid—alloy barrel and composite handle—that flexes upon impact then recoils with a burst of ball-launching energy.
-
This 2-piece design makes the bat virtually indestructible. It redistributes weight for optimal balance, giving you faster, surer swings with less effort.
-
Augmenting this flex (and thus the power of the bat) is the Voodoo RAW’s use of the X12 Alloy for its Extended Barrel.
-
This is DeMarini’s most responsive alloy to date. Not only does this innovative material create optimal strength at the thinnest points, it also produces that slightly end-loaded swing weight that gives the DeMarini Voodoo its horrific, ball-blasting power potential.
-
Strategically added into the hitting zone, the extra mass allows players to attack pitches ferociously with the greatest possible power.
-
The Low Pro End Cap ensures no extra weight at the end of the bat. It then optimizes the swing weight balance, the sound of ball impact, as well as feel throughout the entire barrel.
-
At the bottom of the bat is the RCK Knob. It’s anatomically designed to fit perfectly in your hand. The knob provides an extremely comfortable grip, reducing hand stress when you make those monstrous hits.
-
But at the core of the DeMarini Voodoo RAW’s continued drive for dominance this year would be its implementation of the new D-Fusion 2.0 technology.
-
With this innovation, vibration is reduced. It has an extra-stiff flex is created at the joint connecting this hybrid’s alloy barrel to its composite handle.
-
This stiffer flex together with the end-loaded swing is exactly what you need to go for those bludgeoning out-of-the-ballpark bombs every time you’re at bat.

Raw Hunger
Whew. Funneling out all this aggression is hungry work (dying for a rare steak right now). But, when you take a close look at the history of humanity, hunger has always been the catalyst for evolution and development.
Hunger for food has led to the domestication of animals and the invention of convenience stores. Hunger for knowledge has led to the development of writing and eventually social media.
In sports, hunger for winning is what makes the games exciting to play and watch.
More often than not, the hungrier, more competitive team wins. Because possessing the raw energy, passion and desire to go for the jugular is what separates contenders and pretenders from real champions.
Rabid followers of the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR prefer it over other bats because it is the bat that gives them the power not just to win, but to win decisively (that it also lets them look cool while doing so is just the side dish).
Many have already made it clear with their loyalty to the Voodoo bat. For them, there is no middle ground and that only the optimum is worth striving for.
The question is how badly do you want it? Are you one of these players who are fueled by a desire for excellence? Do you crave respect and recognition? Do you have a big appetite for fulfillment and gratification?
Are you the type who hates split decisions and always aim for the knockout punch? Are you honestly perpetually hungry for hitting homeruns?
If yes, you do want it badly enough, then your choice is clear.

What’s the biggest difference between the overlord and the Raw?
We just purchased the overlord
Thank you
jeff
Hi Peter,
The biggest difference is that the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo Raw has the D-Fusion 2.0 handle technology. That’s just one of the upgrades. It’s basically like buying a newer model phone. As each year passes the technology gets better and better.
